We intend to position ourselves in the marketplace as a premium online vehicle for the national advertiser seeking to capitalize on the emerging trend of user generated content online. The only facility of its kind in Oshawa, The Spot also provides artists an opportunity to monetize their work by hosting and broadcasting performances, exhibits, as well as offering consignment space for merchandise.

Starring long time Kings of the Toronto Indie Music Scene, The 3Tards, in their final performance in Oshawa, this historic show happened in an open air setting, Oshawa’s Memorial Park. Supporting performances by favorites The Groopies from Toronto, and Oshawa’s own sons and daughters, Caution Inc., and Black Cat Attack, rounded out the lineup. The 3Tards Final Oshawa Show was more than a rock concert. Activities surrounding the show would aim to raise funds and awareness for Breast Cancer Research, including a busking fundraising competition, street performances, online auctions of exclusive show merchandise, and on-site silent auction and fundraising table. “15 Minutes of Fame” was a weekly television series aired on RogersTV Durham featuring up and coming comics competing open mic style in various venues throughout Durham Region for an opportunity to perform a 15 min opening set at the Durham Region Comedy Festival’s Gala Show. Weekly episodes feature 6 comics. Bottom three comics were eliminated within the broadcast, with three comics each episode promoted to participate in online voting for one week. Winner of online voting round that week moves on to a spot in a final round in episode 6. Episode 6 eliminates two more of our top 5 comics, sending three finalists forward for a final two week round of online voting. The finale episode will reveal our winner and losers, profile our winner, and document the excitement of a first time breakthrough performance for one lucky budding comic. Watch Progress0! and find out! “Progress 0!” is an innovative community building program designed as a fully reciprocal cultural exchange between the Canada, and the Federative Republic of Brazil, through the auspices of The Canadian Bureau for International Education. Progress0! In September of 2012, Canada started receiving thousands of Brazilian students as part of the Science Without Borders program. Funded by the Brazilian Government, Science Without Borders aims to send over 100,000 Brazilian students to study internationally. The Government of Brazil is funding 75,000 scholarships and a further 26,000 are being funded by the private sector. Currently there are more than 1,300 undergraduate Brazilian students in Canada enrolled in the program, in 77 different universities across the country. Our goal with Progress0!…
